The challenge: Think 25, all day, every day
Since 30 August 2024, the Gambling Commission requires casinos, adult gaming centres, bingo and family entertainment centres, and betting premises to apply Think 25 — asking for ID from anyone who appears under 25. Smaller venues also lost their exemption from test purchasing. Read our Think 25 guide.
Judging age is subjective, and staff are often busy. Customers who head straight for the machines can be missed entirely.
How ClientScan helps
- Age validation in under one second as customers enter.
- Real-time prompts when someone may be under 25, so staff can check ID before gambling starts.
- Demographic insight — age and gender reporting helps you understand who uses your venues and when.
- One installation, two duties. The same entrance camera supports self-exclusion.
Consistent, and evidenced
Automated prompts don't vary between colleagues or shifts, and they create a record you can use alongside your test purchasing results to show your age verification controls are working.
Responsible by design
Age estimation involves processing facial images. We'll help you understand how data is handled so you can complete your DPIA and update your privacy information — see our UK GDPR guide.
